Thinking Straight: Before Starting a New Relationship…Pt III

I am so excited about today’s BLOG because we are going to look inside the mind of the wisest king that ever lived.  He was so respected by his counterparts that he seemed to take their breath away.  His wisdom was phenomenal.  His country was well run and all of his subjects were happy.  There are many things that we can learn from him.  … After all, you were also created by God to be a king in your sphere of influence.

I trust that by now after reading the previous blogs, you have begun shaking off all negative thoughts about yourself and have begun to embrace the truth of God’s Word concerning who He has created you to be. Remember, we are going through the process of discovering who we are in this season of our lives.  We are allowing God to increase us and show us in greater detail, what He has called us to do.  Waiting before the Lord in prayer and worship will cause us to discern His specific assignment for us.  It will also give us the wisdom to know which business and personal relationships we should embrace at this time.  Before we delve into the heart of this lesson, let’s pause for a  few thoughts.

As you discover more and more the marvelous wonders of God, you will comprehend to a greater degree the beauty of  your regenerated spirit man!  II Corinthians 5:17 says “If any man be in Christ, he/she is a new creation.  Old things have passed away and behold all things are new.”   If you have accepted Jesus in your heart, you are a BRAND NEW PERSON. You are not who you were, your spirit has literally been born of God.  Your nature has changed and you are now called by His name.  You are considered royalty because Jesus your brother is King of Kings and Lord of lords.

There are no words to truly express Jesus’ majestic presence and all of His magnificent characteristics.  He is omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful) and omnipresent (every place at once).  While God is interested in the affairs of nations, He is never too busy to listen to you, to encourage you and to provide the specific instruction/correction for BREAKTHROUGH that you need to live the powerful “God kind of life” He intended for you to experience.

King Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba. We know from the study of Scripture that David was a man after God’s own heart. King David was a true worshiper and friend of God.  As you study  Psalm 119: you will see how David wholeheartedly served God.  He longed for the presence of God. Once he danced before the Lord with such vigor that he danced out of his clothes.  His love, devotion and praise to God was UNRESTRICTED!  David proved that his heart was with God because he often gave huge sacrificial offerings.  He was absolutely in love with God and His Word.

Out of David’s intense desire to please God and leave a Godly legacy, he and his wife Bathsheba began to instill within Solomon, the necessity of consistently pursuing, understanding and applying the wisdom of God in every situation and at all times.  In Proverbs 4:, King Solomon repeats what his parents taught him; to RETAIN the words of wisdom, KEEP the commandments and LIVE.  Solomon specifically outlines the benefits of adhering to wisdom throughout the book of Proverbs. Without apology, Solomon says that the reverential fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  He goes on to say  in 1:23 ,(paraphrased) If you will repent and change at wisdom’s reproof, the spirit of wisdom will be poured out on you.  Those who obey wisdom shall dwell securely in the land without fear or dread of evil.

The thoughts of King Solomon are clearly expressed throughout each chapter.  He understood Proverbs 16:12b which says “A throne is established and made secure by righteousness.”

Proverbs 8: 15 – 18 NAS “By me (spirit of wisdom) kings reign, And rulers decree justice.  By me princes rule and nobles, all who judge rightly.  I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.  Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness.  My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold, and my yield better than choicest silver…”

I John 4: 17 b says…”As He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world.”  The prophet Isaiah, in Chapter 11:1 -3, speaks of Jesus and the specific anointing or divine expressions that we would recognize in His life and ministry.  Since God does not take back the gifts he gives to any of us, we can remain certain that Jesus still carries in full measure, the same “divine abilities” that the prophet declared He would walk in.

Isaiah prophesied that ” 1.The Spirit of the Lord would rest upon Him,  2.the spirit of wisdom and 3. understanding,  4. the spirit of counsel and 5. strength, 6. the spirit of knowledge and 7. the fear of the Lord.  And He will delight in the fear of the Lord.   These seven anointings were demonstrated in Jesus’ life and are available to you 24 hours a day/7 days a week as a believer. YEEAAH!!!  II Peter 1:-4 says “…we have been given exceeding great and precious promises: that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature…” Verse 2 helps us to understand that our ability to experience the rich promises of God are directly proportionate to our knowledge of the Word and more importantly OUR THINKING!

Study the book of Proverbs and then study the other books of the Bible. Listen to anointed men and women of God teach the Word of God on a regular basis. I would love to hear what God is doing in your life.  Please leave a comment and share this BLOG with friends.  Until next week, Shalom!
