Because I believe in Jesus, I will not perish…

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Today is a great day to reflect on the life of Christ and to remember “Because I believe in Jesus, I will not perish but have everlasting life”.  St John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.”

Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God?  Do you believe He shed sinless blood and died on the cross so our sins would be forgiven? Do you believe that after three days God raised him from the dead?  If so, according to Romans 10: 9-10, you are saved from living a life without a relationship with Jesus.   You are being saved daily from sickness, depression, poverty and defeat!  You will be saved from an eternity without Jesus (eternal damnation).

Many people confess they are Christians but have no expectation of victory in their lives.  The scripture says “Now are we sons of God…”. Because Jesus shed His blood, dying in our stead, he satisfied the ordinances that were against us.  Jesus paid the price (the shedding of a man’s blood) for God’s relationship with mankind to be restored.  At Calvary, Jesus took on your sins and mine; He became sin.  He did not die for His own sin because He had no sin.  He became the perfect sacrifice that was offered to God once and for all.  Now, “to as many as believed to them he gave power (ability) to become sons of God.”

Stop acting like you are guilty of sin and therefore unworthy of the blessings of God.  Guilty people don’t expect blessings and favor, they expect justice and punishment.  If you have accepted Jesus’ blood as your sacrifice, you are no longer guilty.  It is illegal for the enemy to hold onto your blessings.  You have been welcomed into the presence of the Lord.  You are no longer estranged as it pertains to your Sonship and your godly inheritance. You can celebrate Christmas and everyday knowing that you have received the free yet priceless gift of God’s son, in your heart.

Are you experiencing the weighty presence of the Lord in your life?  Do you talk to Jesus and does He talk back to you?  He wants to speak to you from His Word, the Holy Bible. As you read and study the Bible, the Spirit of God will speak to you.  In His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures forever more.  During this Christmas season, let’s seek His face.  Like David, in Psalm 103: we can say “Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all of his benefits: who forgives all our iniquities, who heals all our diseases, who redeems our life from destruction, who crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies our mouth with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

As a son (daughter) of God, I now boldly say “The LORD is my shepherd I shall not want!”.  I shall not want for anything!  It is my Father’s good pleasure to bless me. There is no good thing that He will with hold from me because I walk upright.

Don’t allow yourself to become indifferent, lukewarm or passive because of the people you are around. Perhaps they have not heard the good news of why Jesus came  or maybe they chose not to believe in Him.  The covenant and promise is to those who believe. I said the covenant and promise is to those who believe according to John 3:16.  Because you believe in Jesus, you will not perish.  Because you believe in Jesus, you cannot perish but have everlasting life!
